Samsung Captivate & Samsung VibrantSamsung has sold 1 million of their flagship Galaxy S smartphones in the U.S. in just 45 days according to a press release from the company yesterday.

The Samsung Galaxy S features a 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen, 1 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM and 16 GB of internal memory.

Samsung began shipping the Galaxy S in the U.S on 15 July which it currently sells through AT&T as the Samsung Captivate and T-Mobile as the Samsung Vibrant.

Samsung also plans to make the Galaxy S available through other U.S. carriers this year which will no doubt further boost its numbers and solidify its place as one of the top Android device manufacturers.

In Australia, the Galaxy S is currently available through Optus. Vodafone and Three have recently announced via their blogs that the Galaxy S is coming soon, although no date has yet been mentioned.
