LG Optimus One & Optimus ChicOn Monday LG Electronics unveiled its upcoming LG Optimus Series of devices, specifically the Optimus One and Optimus Chic smartphones.

Optimus, which means ‘best’ in Latin, will be a series of approximately 10 devices that will run a range of popular operating systems and also an Android tablet device. However, the only operating system specifically mentioned in their press release is Google’s Android so I’d be interested to know what the other ‘popular’ operating systems will be.

Going by the photos both phones appear rather ordinary with the Optimus One looking a bit old fashioned in the style department if you ask me. The Optimus Chic is definitely the better looking phone with its soft lines and sleek curves but still a bit plain so I doubt it’ll be winning any design awards.

LG didn’t release any specs for the Optimus One or Optimus Chic but I don’t expect them to differ too much from the higher end smartphones available today. Release dates also haven’t been mentioned although LG did state that when they do ship, they’ll be packing Android 2.2 which is good news.
