HTC Desire with Android 2.2 FroyoIt has just been reported by Gadget Venue that the HTC Desire is to get the Android 2.2 Froyo update on 23 June.

This information comes from the XDA Developers forum where a user had posted a conversation they had with a HTC representative. The user was frustrated at not being able to install apps on the SD card and asked the representative if there was a solution.

The response from the HTC representative was: “I have had a chat with my supervisor and she said there’s nothing you can do… but you never heard this from me… a new update is coming on the 23rd of June and you will be able to put some apps on to the microSD card.”

If this is indeed true it will put a smile on many HTC Desire owners’ faces as Android 2.2 Froyo brings a multitude of improvements and enhancements to Google’s mobile operating system. Some of the features include a performance increase of between 2-5 times, USB tethering, Flash 10.1 support and enhanced Microsoft Exchange support.

No doubt HTC Desire users will be waiting eagerly for the update.
